A central character in the story is The Sea Hag. Mr Jim Russell, a community artist who worked on the project, was asked to create a creature who would be employed in teaching the children of Ards Council area about recycling. Jim related his work to our project and built a sculpture of The Sea Hag! She carried out several duties including a visit to Wright’s recycling plant and an environmental awareness day in Newtownards town hall. Jim has been sending our school postcards on behalf of the Sea Hag to keep the children up to date with her work. This has created great excitement and kept the enthusiasm for our project alive as we awaited the final copy from the graphic designer.
