Confirmation Day
Today we think of our Primary Seven class on what would have been their Confirmation Day.
Confirmation Day is one of the most special occasions in our Primary Seven year and indeed, in our lives. It is the day when we receive the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit and renew the promises made for us at our Baptism. We celebrate with our families, our friends in our own school and our friends in the other Parish schools.
The experience for our Primary 7’s today is very different to what we would have wished for them, it is tinged with sadness and reflection on what might have been. However, we look forward in hope and we pray that we will celebrate together in the future.
To assist our Primary Seven children and their families in acknowledging this special day, we invite them to assemble a May altar in their home, as mentioned in last Monday’s assembly. Today, place an item on your May altar which symbolizes your Confirmation Day.
