Today, P5/6 had the incredible opportunity to meet and learn from our local firefighter, Mervin.
Mervin explained the daily routines of a firefighter, the importance of fire safety, and the various equipment they use. The children were fascinated by the stories of bravery and teamwork, and they asked many insightful questions. They even got a chance to try on the firefighting gear! Miss Boylan was also set a challenge...could she beat the firefighters challenge of getting ready in 35 seconds? Of course she could! 30 seconds to be precise - with the encouraging chants from the boys and girls!
This visit was a fantastic way for our students to learn about the vital role firefighters play in our community. It also reinforced the importance of fire safety and preparedness. We are incredibly grateful to Mervin for taking the time to educate and inspire our children.
