P6/7 STEM Workshop on 'Bridges and Structures'
The boys and girls in P6/7 had a fantastic time today in a STEM workshop which focussed on Bridges and Structures. Using spaghetti and jelly beans, they created structures and then tested them to see which was the sturdiest. Lots of the structures created passed the 'Earthquake Test'! Later, the boys and girls used paper, rods and rivets to create triangular structures. This was great preparation for a science experiment in which the boys and girls created three structures to see which would be the strongest - one which used rectangles, one which used squares and one which used triangles. They could see clearly that the triangular structure was the strongest as it could hold the greatest weight.
