St Columban's Tournaments
Girls and boys participated in the netball and football tournaments at St. Columban's College today.
It was a very special occasion as it was the last time the tournaments will be held.
The girls won all their matches and narrowly missed out on the shield in the final against St Colman's PS, when the score was 4-3. Mrs Digney is proud of the way the girls played and worked together as a team. Well done, girls!
The boys played Holy Cross PS, Atticall and St Joseph's PS, Ballymartin in the heats and won a place in the McKibbin Shield semi-final when they played St Colman's PS. They earned themselves a place in the final when they again played Holy Cross PS and came out as winners! Mr O'Rourke will be proud of the way the boys played together as a team, putting all the skills they have practised to good use.
The boys had returned the McKibbin Shield to St Columban's this morning, as Grange had won it last year too. We are delighted that it made the return journey to school with us today.
We held a special assembly back in school to congratulate the girls and boys and to present their certificates.
What an exciting day!
